Our Methodology

Our program is based on the Emergent Curriculum philosophy. Emergent curriculum is rooted in the work of noted early childhood theorists like Dewey, Piaget, and Vygotsky. It focuses on being responsive to children’s interests to create meaningful learning experiences. It is based on the premise that children are most successful at learning when curriculum experiences account for their interests, strengths, and learning styles. As such we help children stimulate their Left Brain and Right Brain based on their personal interests and preferences.

The left brain’s functionality is one of language, numeracy, literacy, analysis, and time. It is the logical, calculating, planning, busy-bee part of us that keeps us anchored in the pragmatic world, and in past and future.

The right brain, on the other hand, is responsible for empathy, intuition, imagination, and creativity. It is where we wonder, dream, connect and come alive.

    FAQ

While enrolling kids in a daycare facility can often be a heart-wrenching experience for many families, evidence proves that the caring and learning environment will be greatly beneficial to their children in the long run.

Finding a licensed and quality daycare center where children are supported and encouraged to engage in a variety of curriculum activities can help set the basis for great intellectual strides when your child or toddler is old enough to go to school.

Pre-school years are important moments in a child’s life. During these years your toddler will make friends, learn how to problem-solve, and acquire skills that will come in handy when they start school.

With time, children will develop an interest in learning and also play and interact positively with kids of different age groups and adults as well. Their families will also be able to connect and discuss important issues concerning their children amongst each other.

Daycare centers are facilities where parents enroll and drop off their kids with other children of varying ages. When choosing a daycare center in Calgary, there are several categories to pick from.

    Group daycare programs

Group daycare centers in Calgary are generally state-licensed facilities that operate in a similar setting as schools. Many of such facilities are managed and activities overseen by the employers themselves.

    In-home daycare programs

In-home daycares are typically run at the provider’s home. However, not all in-home daycares are required to be licensed. This simply means you have to go the extra mile in ensuring they are in full compliance with regulatory requirements. And that there are safe spaces for children of different years to play in.

A quality child care program offers some peculiar benefits, some of which include:

    Reliability

Most daycare centers in Calgary operate for as long or close to 12 hours daily, to support the schedules of different families.

And since there is usually more than one caregiver, there’s always a substitute if your child’s caregiver isn’t feeling well or won’t be around for the day.

    Education

A well scheduled and organized daycare program is dedicated to your child’s development and growth, both mentally, physically, and emotionally.

    Socialization

Your child will get plenty of face time with children their age, this will also help in the improvement of their cognitive and communication skills.

Depending on your location, you might have to set aside some time to drive to several daycare locations near you.

If you’re planning to go back to work soon it’s a great idea to start your search at least a couple of months ahead; if you reside in the city you should probably start checking out some options before your baby arrives. These are a few things every parent should take note of.

    Do a preschool research

To find quality daycare services in Calgary you can either- google family recommended preschool options, or maybe find out from your colleagues at work, friends, or even your pediatrician.

You can also try inquiring from people you meet at your pediatrician’s waiting room. You can as well check childcare referral services online.

    Drop by unannounced

Before you apply for a daycare service, consider dropping by the facility out of the blue to get a better picture of what the daycare center is like when its staff isn’t prepared for a visit.

If the center doesn’t allow for unplanned visitation, then you should probably continue your search.

    Check preschool references

Find a specific day to phone current clients to see just how happy they are with the daycare and preschool service. As easy as it is to rely on the impressive letters of recommendation that care providers may supply, it’s in your best interest not to do so. Some of the time such letters are easily manipulated or forged.
